Spring has come at last and the community association welcomes the new editors of the newsletter stepping into Walter Grauberg’s shoes which is a big task. Walter retired from the committee and news letter editorship. He has served this community association for many years as chairman, newsletter editor organised events and support numerous others. We thank Walter for all the knowledge, wisdom and hard work put in over the years and we will all miss his input at committee meetings. We hope to continue and maintain the high standards he has set. The community is a richer place for his enormous contribution.
The community association now has a weather station to record local data and serve residents with live up to date information through its web site. Bramcote Hills primary school has kindly agreed to host the station which will be relocated from its temporary location on the Oakland’s estate after Easter. Read more in this edition.
When crime happens in our community we all suffer, not as directly as the victims but it affects our sense of security and value of our properties. We all have a vested interest in ensuring that crime to our person, property and neighbour does not go unpunished by reporting it to the authorities. Please don’t suffer in silence, report problems to the police and neighbourhood watch co-ordinators so that they can follow up the progress of investigations. You can also attend the CAT meetings at the Rose Grower which is normally attended by the police and Local Authority. Our police are more effective when they have intelligence to work with don’t rely on someone else providing all the information help complete the picture.
There are many events happening in and around Bramcote Hills, community organised ones are published in this edition. We are encouraging our affiliated sections to promote their events through our news letter and web site, and the college is tabling ideas for events so let us know if these appeal and you want to take part, ring or email the contact person and have a happy and pleasant year.
