This news letter is being delivered by one of many volunteers, without whom the association could not function. Sadly, one such volunteer, Michael Rayner has died. Michael had delievered the news letters and collected subs for many years and the community would like him family to know that we are very grateful. Following the death earlier in the year of Herman Bachelard we have made a donation to Amnesty international in memory not only of Herman but also people like Michael who have given up their time and energies for the community.
When the Bramcote Cricket club open day in June was washed out they rescheduled the to the August Bank Holiday. At the top of the promotional flyer it read “Support your local Club”. It is a theme I would like pick upon and extend to “support your local clubs and groups”. The start of the summer was kicked off with yet another successful Play scheme, but behind the scenes the organisers had short notice of a cut in a funding Grant. Many Thanks to Counsellor Stan Heptinstall for plugging the shortfall.
